DESCRIBED BY CITY OF AKRON OHIO 1963 (VBM) THE STATION IS ABOUT 2-3/4 MILES WEST OF DOWNTOWN AKRON AND UNDER THE TRAFFIC LIGHT IN THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH HAWKINS AVENUE AND COPLEY ROAD. THE MARK IS A CITY OF AKRON DISK STAMPED MAPLE SET IN THE TOP OF AN 6 INCH SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT 4 INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF A 3 FOOT SQUARE OF CONCRETE AND COVERED WITH A 9 INCH IRON COVER. RECOVERY NOTE 2013 SCE- INTERSECTION HAS BEEN IMPROVED. THE MONUMENT BOX WAS NOT VISIBLE AND UNABLE TO FIND WITH METAL DETECTOR.
