DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1964 AT AKRON, AT THE INTERSECTION OF STATE HIGHWAY 241 AND U.S. HIGHWAY 224, (STATE HIGHWAY 224 IS GEORGE WASHINGTON BLVD), 156 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE APPROXIMATE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION, 38.5 FEET EAST OF THE EAST CURB OF THE NORTH BOUND LANE OF STATE HIGHWAY 241, 11 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH CURB OF THE WEST BOUND LANE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 224, 2 1/2 FEET WEST OF POWER LINE POLE 43183, 1 FOOT ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE HIGHWAYS AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 2 INCHES ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE GROUND. RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1980 THE INTERSECTION HAS BEEN CHANGED AND THE MARK HAS BEEN RESET. THE MARK HAS BEEN SUNK ABOUT 3 TO 4 FEET BELOW THE GROUND. THE TOP OF THE MARK COULD NOT BE FOUND HOWEVER AS IT WAS COVERED BY AA THICK LAAYER OF MUD AND DEBRIS.
