DESCRIBED BY CITY OF AKRON OHIO 1943 (APR) THIS STATION WAS ESTABLISHED BY THE AKRON CITY SURVEY. IT IS LOCATED IN THE CITY OF AKRON, ON THE ROOF OF THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING. THE BUILDING IS LOCATED ON THE NW CORNER OF CHURCH AND SOUTH HIGH STREETS. THE STATION IS MARKED BY AN IRON BOLT SET IN CONCRETE ON THE ROOF OF THE VENTILATOR SHAFT. IT IS 19.4 FEET W OF THE INSIDE OF THE NW CORNER OF THE STONE COPING, 14.7 FEET E OF THE OUTSIDE OF THE SE CORNER OF THE CHIMNEY COPING. THE IRON BOLT PROJECTS 1 INCH ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE ROOF. NO ADDITIONAL MARKS WERE ESTABLISHED. RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 (JBM) THE STATION WAS SEARCHED FOR, BUT WAS NOT RECOVERED. THE MARK WAS DESTROYED BY CONSTRUCTION ON THE ROOF OF THE BUILDING.
