THE MARK IS A CITY OF AKRON DISK STAMPED GARFIELD A SET IN THE TOP OF A 6 INCH SQUARE CONCRETE MONUMENT 4 INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF A 3 FOOT SQUARE OF CONCRETE AND COVERED WITH A 9 INCH IRON COVER. RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1964 AT AKRON, ABOUT 0.1 MILE EAST OF THE GARFIELD HIGH SCHOOL, NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF FIRESTONE BLVD AND BROWN STREET, 21.5 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION, 17 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF BROWN STREET, 12 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF FIRESTONE BLVD, SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST 4 INCHES BELOW THE LEVEL OF THE STREET ACCESS TO WHICH IS HAD THROUGH A 9 INCH CAST IRON COVER MARKED AKRON SURVEY 1963.
