DESCRIBED BY CITY OF AKRON OHIO 1963 VORIS ECC IS A CITY OF AKRON DISK STAMPED VORIS ECC, SET IN THE TOP OF A 6 INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT IS 6 INCHES UNDER A 3 FOOT SQUARE OF CONCRETE WITH A 9 INCH IRON MANHOLE COVER THAT IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. IT IS 23.8 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE SCHOOL BUILDING, 65.6 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF A DRIVEWAY, 17.3 FEET SOUTH OF A SOUTH WALL OF THE BUILDING, AND 2.7 FEET EAST OF AN EAST WALL OF THE BUILDING. RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1964 AT AKRON, IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE CITY, NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF SOUTH FIRESTONE BLVD AND U.S. HIGHWAY 224 (WATERLOO ROAD), ON THE GROUNDS OF THE VORIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 65.6 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF A DRIVEWAY ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BUILDING, 23.8 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF WEST WING OF BUILDING, 17.3 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH WALL OF BUILDING (SOUTH WALL BETWEEN WING OF BUILDING), 2.7 FEET EAST OF THE EAST WALL OF BUILDING, SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST 6 INCHES UNDERGROUND ACCESS TO WHICH IS HAD THROUGH A 9 INCH CAST IRON COVER MARKED AKRON SURVEY 1963. THE SCHOOL HAS BEEN RAZED AND THE MONUMENT BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN DESTROYED.
