Description of Location

DESCRIBED BY CITY OF AKRON OHIO 1963 (VBM) THE STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE TOP OF THE TANK, LOCATED ON THE ROOF OF THE SACKS ELECTRIC COMPANY AT 711 JOHNSON STREET, ABOUT 1-1/4 MILES SOUTH- SOUTHEAST OF DOWNTOWN AKRON. THE TANK IS LOCATED NEAR THE CENTER OF THE ROOF OF THE BUILDING, ON THE TOP OF A 4 LEGGED CONCRETE STRUCTURE. IT IS A WOODEN TANK PAINTED BLACK. THE OVERALL HEIGHT ABOVE THE GROUND IS 170 FEET.
