SURFACE, UNDERGROUND, AND REFERENCE MARKS ARE BRONZE DISKS SET IN CONCRETE. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS 91.58 FEET ESE OF STATION, 25.7 FEET WNW OF NW CORNER OF BUCHTEL HALL BUILDING, 12.7 FEET S OF S EDGE OF AN E-W SIDEWALK, AND 4.9 FEET W OF W CURB OF DRIVEWAY. THE DISK, WITH ARROW POINTING TO THE STATION, IS STAMPED UNIVERSITY NO 1 1943. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS 81.82 FEET W OF STATION, 68.4 FEET E OF NE CORNER OF GYMNASIUM BUILDING, 37.5 FEET N OF A LIGHT POST, AND 5.3 FEET S OF S EDGE OF SIDEWALK. THE DISK, WITH ARROW POINTING TO STATION, IS STAMPED UNIVERSITY NO 2 1943. NO SUITABLE SITE AVAILABLE FOR AN AZIMUTH MARK. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK - 30 METERS. RECOVERY NOTE BY US GEOLOGICAL SURVEY 1957 STATION WAS DESTROYED AT THE TIME THEY REMOVED A TEMPORARY BUILDING AT THE SITE OF THE STATION. THE REFERENCE MARKS WERE SEARCHED FOR BUT NOT FOUND.
