DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 (VBM) THE STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE TOP OF THE STANDPIPE, LOCATED ABOUT 4.5 MILES NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF DOWNTOWN AKRON, WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF ALLING RD. AND EAST AVE., IN TALLMADGE, OHIO. IT IS A SILVER STANDPIPE, WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 80 FEET HIGH. RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1977 (JRS) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED, WITH PREVIOUS DESCRIPTION IN QUAD 410812-1034. THE STATION IS THE TOP CENTER OF THE TALLMADGE MUNICIPAL WATER STANDPIPE. THE STANDPIPE HAS A CYLINDRICAL BODY WITH A DOME TOP AND IS APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET IN DIAMETER. IT IS SILVER IN COLOR WITH A RED TOP AND IS APPROXIMATELY 80 FEET HIGH. IT IS LOCATED IN THE EAST SECTION OF TALLMADGE, ABOUT 0.7 MILE EAST OF THE CENTER OF TOWN, AND 200 FEET WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF ALLING ROAD. DESCRIBED BY D.C. FRAZIER, TYPED BY B.R. LEWIS.
