IT IS 36 FEET NORTHEAST OF A 12 INCH TRIANGULAR BLAZE OAK TREE AND 32 FEET WEST OF THE EDGE OF LAKE AND A BLAZE OAK TREE. THE MARK IS A CAST IRON PIPE 6 INCHES IN DIAMETER FILLED WITH CONCRETE AND IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND WITH A STANDARD TRIANGULATION BRONZE STATION MARK DISK SET IN THE TOP STAMPED SEA SCOUT 1951. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1 IS 31 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE EDGE OF LAKE. THE MARK IS A CAST IRON PIPE 4 INCHES IN DIAMETER FILLED WITH CONCRETE AND IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND WITH A STANDARD TRIANGULATION BRONZE REFERENCE MARK DISK SET IN THE TOP STAMPED SEA SCOUT NO 1 1951. FOUND LAYING ON THE GROUND IN 2004. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2 IS 24 FEET WEST OF THE EDGE OF LAKE AND 6 FEET NORTHEAST OF A 12 INCH TRIANGULAR BLAZED OAK TREE. THE MARK IS A CAST IRON PIPE 4 INCHES IN DIAMETER FILLED WITH CONCRETE AND IS FLUSH WITH THE GROUND WITH A STANDARD TRIANGULATION BRONZE REFERENCE MARK DISK SET IN THE TOP STAMPED SEA SCOUT NO 2 1951. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF STATE HIGHWAY NO. 93 AND U.S. HIGHWAY NO. 244 IN THE SOUTH EDGE OF AKRON, GO SOUTH ON STATE HIGHWAY NO. 93 FOR 4.3 MILES TO LATHAM DRIVE, TURN LEFT ON LATHAM DRIVE AND GO 0.75 MILE TO A DIM WOODS ROAD LEFT, TURN LEFT ON WOODS ROAD AND GO 0.6 MILE TO A BOYS SCOUT CAMP, CONTINUE NORTH ALONG THE WEST EDGE OF LAKE FOR 0.1 MILE TO THE STATION AS DESCRIBED. DESCRIBED BY COSE 2000 LOCATED AT PORTAGE LAKES STATE PARK. FROM THE SE CORNER OF THE PARKING LOT FOR THE BEACH GO EAST ON A DIRT TRAIL APPROXIMATELY 1700 FEET TO THE STATION MARKED WITH AN ORANGE CARSONITE MARKER.
