IT IS A TALL PENCIL TYPE RADIO MAST, 250 FEET HIGH, PAINTED SILVER WITH A RED LIGHT ON THE TOP. THE STATION CALL LETTER IS WPDO. THE POINT OBSERVED ON IS THE RED LIGHT ON TOP OF THE MAST. RECOVERY NOTE BY LOCAL SURVEYOR (INDIVIDUAL OR FIRM) 1945 LETTER OF GEHRES AND KINGSLEY, AKRON, OHIO, DATED JANUARY 26, 1945. THE TALL PENCIL-TYPE RADIO MAST MENTIONED IN DESCRIPTION IS INCORRECT. IT IS A FOUR-LEGGED TOWER LOCATED BEHIND FIRE STATION 5 AND E OF AKRON UNIVERSITY. NO POSITION IS AVAILABLE SINCE ONLY ONE DIRECTION WAS OBSERVED TO THIS MAST.
