DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 (VBM) THE STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE RED BALL ON THE TOP, LOCATED ABOUT 4.5 MILES NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF DOWNTOWN AKRON, NORTH OF THE INTERSECTION OF MOGADORE RD. AND HALE AVE., IN MOGADORE, OHIO. IT IS A SIX LEGGED, BLACK WATER TANK, WITH A RED AND WHITE CHECKERED TOP AND A RED, ROUND BALL ON THE TOP. IT IS ON LOT NO. 3643, AND IT IS APPROXIMATELY 120 FEET HIGH. RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1967 (WMR) STATION RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. THE 1963 DESCRIPTION IS GOOD. RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1977 (JRS) THE STATION WAS RECOVERED, WITH PREVIOUS DESCRIPTION IN QUAD 410812-1021. THE STATION IS THE BALL TOP CENTER OF THE MOGADORE MUNICIPAL WATER TANK. THE TANK HAS A CYLINDRICAL BODY WITH A CONICAL TOP AND HEMISPHERICAL BOTTOM, SUPPORTED BY SIX STEEL TRUSS-WORK LEGS. IT IS BLACK IN COLOR WITH A RED TOP AND IS APPROXIMATELY 110 FEET HIGH. IT IS LOCATED IN THE NORTHWEST SECTION OF MOGADORE, ABOUT 0.7 MILE NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF TOWN, 0.5 MILE WEST OF STATE HIGHWAY 532 AND 0.05 MILE NORTH OF MOGADORE ROAD. DESCRIBED BY D.C.
