DESCRIBED BY CITY OF AKRON OHIO 1963 (VBM) THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 1-3/4 MILES NORTH OF DOWNTOWN AKRON, NEAR THE CENTER OF THE TWO NORTH BOUND LANES OF NORTH MAIN STREET, AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH MAIN AND FRANCES STREETS, ABOUT 20 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. IT IS A CITY OF AKRON DISK STAMPED WOMERSLEY, SET IN THE TOP OF A 6 INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT IS 6 INCHES UNDER A 3 FOOT SQUARE OF CONCRETE WITH A 9 INCH IRON MANHOLE COVER THAT IS FLUSH WITH THE SURFACE OF THE STREET. RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1964 AT AKRON, AT THE INTERSECTION OF NORTH MAIN STREET AND FRANCES AVENUE, NEAR THE CENTER OF THE NORTH-BOUND LANE OF NORTH MAIN STREET, 20 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE TRAFFIC LIGHT AT THE INTERSECTION, 25 FEET WEST OF THE EAST CURB OF NORTH MAIN STREET, SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST 6 INCHES UNDER THE STREET ACCESS TO WHICH IS HAD THROUGH A 9 INCH CAST IRON COVER MARKED AKRON SURVEY 1963 NOTE 2016-THE LID HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH A WATER VALVE LID.
