DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1963 (VMB) THE STATION IS THE CENTER OF THE TOP OF THE STANDPIPE, LOCATED ABOUT 5-1/2 MILES SOUTHEAST OF DOWNTOWN AKRON AND ABOUT 350 FEET WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF GALE DRIVE AND COLUMBINE AVENUE. IT IS A STANDARD METAL STANDPIPE ITS SIDES ARE PAINTED GREY AND THE TOP IS RED AND WHITE WITH A RED LIGHT AT THE CENTER OF THE TOP. ITS HEIGHT IS ABOUT 100 FEET. A TRAVERSE CONNECTION WAS MADE FROM TRIANGULATION STATION GALE THE DISTANCE IS 65.7 FEET AND 20.03 METERS.
