DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1950 (PLB) RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1953 (WTJ) STATION IS A STANDARD REVOLVING DOUBLE ENDED BEACON, SHOWING ALTERNATING GREEN AND WHITE BEAM. THE BEACON IS LOCATED AT THE AKRON-CANTON AIRPORT ABOUT 650 FT. E. OF THE CONTROL TOWER AND ABOUT 50 FT S. OF THE WEATHER BUREAU OFFICE. IT IS A FOUR LEGGED STEEL STRUCTURE PAINTED ALTERNATE RED AND WHITE, AND IS 56 FT. HIGH. STATION WAS RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1962 (VES) THE BEACON AND ITS SUPPORTING STEEL STRUCTURE HAS BEEN REMOVED. A NEW AIRPORT BEACON WAS INSTALLED ON THE TOP OF THE CONTROL TOWER IN 1962.
