Description of Location

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1964 1.5 MILES EAST ALONG THE ERIE RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT EAST AKRON JUNCTION, SUMMIT COUNTY, 17 YARDS SOUTHWEST OF MILEPOST S 199, 14 YARDS EAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF THE CENTERLINE OF A HIGHWAY WITH THE SOUTH RAIL OF THE TRACK, ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE CONCRETE BASE OF SIGNAL 611+2, 6 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH RAIL OF THE SOUTH TRACK, AND LEVEL WITH THE TOP OF THE RAIL. NOTE-- THE ERIE RAILROAD IS NOW THE ERIE-LACKAWANNA RAILROAD. NOTE-- THE CONCRETE BASE IS CHIPPED AND THE CHISELED CROSS COULD NOT BE IDENTIFIED.
