Description of Location

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 (APR) THE AIRWAY BEACON IS LOCATED ABOUT 1 MILE N OF THE VILLAGE OF WEST RICHFIELD AND IS ON THE HIGHEST POINT IN SUMMIT COUNTY. IT IS ABOUT 200 FEET N OF M. TIMKO FARMHOUSE, AND 75.6 FEET E OF THE CENTER LINE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 21. IT IS A FOUR-LEGGED STEEL STRUCTURE AND IS 50 FEET HIGH. TO REACH FROM THE WEST RICHFIELD POST OFFICE, GO N ON U.S. HIGHWAY 21 FOR ABOUT 1 MILE TO THE SUMMIT OF THE HILL AND THE BEACON ON THE RIGHT. THIS IS AN INTERSECTION SECTION.
