DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 (APR) STATION IS LOCATED ON A HIGH HILL ABOUT 0.25 MILE S OF STATE HIGHWAY 261 ON THE NW EDGE OF BARBERTON. IT IS ABOUT 125 FEET HIGH, 60 FEET IN DIAMETER, AND IS PAINTED SILVER. THE POINT OBSERVED ON WAS THE SMALL BALL ON TOP OF THE STANDPIPE. TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 21 AND STATE HIGHWAY 261 ABOUT 5 MILES W OF THE CITY OF AKRON, GO E ON HIGHWAY 261 FOR 1.25 MILES TO A LANE S, TURN S AND GO 0.25 MILE TO STANDPIPE.
