THE STATION IS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE MOST S OF THE TWO PROMINENT KNOLLS. THE DISK IS STAMPED BARBERTON 1943. SURFACE, UNDERGROUND, AND REFERENCE MARKS ARE BRONZE DISKS SET IN CONCRETE. REFERENCE MARK 1 IS 349.45 FEET NNW OF THE STATION, 35.7 FEET SE OF THE S EDGE OF THE STANDPIPE, 31.7 FEET NW OF THE GRAVELED ROAD THAT CIRCLES THE STANDPIPE, AND 54.9 FEET W OF POWER-TRANSMISSION LINE POLE BA-6254. THE DISK IS STAMPED BARBERTON NO 1 1943 WITH ARROW POINTING TO STATION. REFERENCE MARK 2 IS 369.31 FEET N OF THE STATION, 53.5 FEET NNW OF POWER-TRANSMISSION LINE POLE BA-6254, 37.3 FEET E OF THE E EDGE OF THE STANDPIPE, AND 18.2 FEET W OF THE GRAVELED ROAD THAT CIRCLES THE STANDPIPE. THE DISK IS STAMPED BARBERTON NO 2 1943 WITH ARROW POINTING TO STATION. NO SUITABLE SITE WAS AVAILABLE FOR AN AZIMUTH MARK. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 224 AND STATE HIGHWAY 5 IN THE NE SECTION OF THE TOWN OF BARBERTON, GO NE ON STATE HIGHWAY 5 FOR 0.4 MILE TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT, TURN LEFT ON WOOSTER ROAD NORTH AND GO ONE BLOCK TO SUMMIT ROAD. CONTINUE NW ON SUMMIT ROAD FOR 0.5 MILE TO A GRAVELED T-ROAD RIGHT, TURN RIGHT AND GO 0.1 MILE, THEN RIGHT FOR ABOUT 150 FEET TO THE SUMMIT OF THE S KNOLL. HEIGHT OF LIGHT ABOVE STATION MARK - 26 METERS. RECOVERY NOTE BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1951 (LWS) THE STATION MARK HAD BEEN DESTROYED DUE TO THE EXPANDING OF A GRAVEL PIT. THE REFERENCE MARKS WERE FOUND IN GOOD CONDITION. A NEW STATION WAS ESTABLISHED BY THIS PARTY BARBERTON 2. THE OLD STATION SHOULD BE CONSIDERED LOST.
